  • Welcome To The Home Of It’s Not That Bad

It’s the show that does its best to defend the unfairly maligned movies, to find the silver linings in the films deemed “less than great”. Every week, host Jason Whissell is joined by a guest to discuss a movie that has been poorly rated by the critics or by the fans. We do our very best to find good things to say about them, and to show those flicks in a light that you may have not noticed before. We are also always happy to hear what movies you think should be covered, as well as what you thought of the movies themselves. We’ll be posting blogs on here as well as keep you updated as to what to expect in the coming months.

  • Keep Watch Pass – Movies Starring Recording Artists

This week, we’re making our picks of movies starring recording artists. That means a singer or musician playing a fictional character. Movies about fictional bands or singers don’t qualify. So, did our picks go platinum? Are we relegated to the discount bin? Listen in and find out.

  • There Can Only Be One – Candlebox

It’s hard to imagine that, after 30 years, Candlebox are planning on coming off the road. Hot off the heels of the release of their final album, The Long Goodbye, we dive through the 8 albums in their studio discography and make our picks for our playlists. Which songs did we pick? Do we align with your picks? Listen in as we pontificate, remember and beg for a Candlebox live with full orchestra album (we can dream).

Below, you will find the playlists that both Kerry and I put together. Have a listen, enjoy the music, and let us know in the comments below what songs you would have picked form Candlebox’s studio discography.

  • Ep. 98 – Strays

Most people go to the theaters to watch stories of adventure, drama and excitement. They go to experience marvels that can’t be experienced in real life. They go to be amazed. Others, like us, occasionally go to count how many swear words you can get into 90 minutes. There may be something wrong with us…but there’s nothing wrong with this movie as we seek to prove to you that Strays is not that bad.

  • Ep. 97 – Surrogates

You hear it all the time from sci-fi movie fans around the world…stop putting out the same old IP’s and start crafting new stories. Occasionally, Hollywood actually listened…only to be slapped down by critics who just didn’t get or appreciate stories they weren’t already familiar with. That’s a shame, because when it comes to movies like 2009’s Surrogates, we’re here to tell you that it’s not that bad.

  • Keep Watch Pass – Live Action Movies With Talking Animals

We get it, they’re cute, cuddly and most likely animatronic. They can make or break a film. Find out with chatty creatures made our Keep Watch and Pass list. Warning…one of these films can be very anger-inducing…if you like GOOD filmmaking.

  • There Can Only Be One – Def Leppard

They were one of the acts that defined the 80’s sound. They defied the odds, surmounted every obstacle in their way and put out a ton of great albums along the way. Lyle Robichaud joins the show to go through 14 albums in the discography of the one and only Def Leppard. This is going to be a good one!

Below, you will see the playlists from both Lyle and I. Go through, have a listen and see if you agree with our choices. We also want to know what songs you would have picked, so be sure to sound off in the comments below and let us know what songs would have made your list?

  • Ep. 96 – Atlantis: The Lost Empire

Over the years, Disney has put out animated movies that have sparked our imaginations and stood the test of time. Every now and then though, the critics find one and take the House Of Mouse down a notch or two. Were they justified this time? Find out as we prove to you that Atlantis: The Lost Empire is not that bad.

  • Keep Watch Pass – Harry Potter Movies

Your acceptance letter to Hogwarts has arrived. It’s time to dive deep into the Wizarding World and make our Keep Watch Pass picks of movies with the boy who lived? Which movie gets 10 points? Which one shall not be named? No golden snitches here…just some KWP magic.

  • Ep. 95 – Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed

Hanna Barbera is known for creating some of the most iconic characters that graced our TVs on Saturday mornings. The movies made from those characters…well, that’s a different story. But fret not, cartoon lovers, because we’re here to tell you that Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed is not that bad.

  • Keep Watch Pass – Movies Starring Scarlett Johansson

She is one of the biggest, most bankable stars in Hollywood today and her filmography runs of the gamut of every genre. We take a look at her movies and pick our Keep, Watch and Pass picks. See if our choices line up with your favs and not-so-fav movies of the one and only ScarJo.
