  • Welcome To The Home Of It’s Not That Bad

It’s the show that does its best to defend the unfairly maligned movies, to find the silver linings in the films deemed “less than great”. Every week, host Jason Whissell is joined by a guest to discuss a movie that has been poorly rated by the critics or by the fans. We do our very best to find good things to say about them, and to show those flicks in a light that you may have not noticed before. We are also always happy to hear what movies you think should be covered, as well as what you thought of the movies themselves. We’ll be posting blogs on here as well as keep you updated as to what to expect in the coming months.

  • Keep Watch Pass – Movie Soundtracks

They are the songs you hear in the movie, and then on the radio. They help tell the story, set the mood and allow you to relive moments from the film wherever you listen to music. On this episode, we pick our Keep, Watch and Pass soundtracks. Which discs made our picks? Which ones would have made yours? Tune in and find out.

  • Ep. 113 – Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice

When we were kids, we all took our action figures and bashed them together as if those characters would actually have reason to fight. In a lot of those cases, the dialogue we made up in our heads for those action figures was probably better than what ended up in some superhero films. But don’t worry, no need to bash anything here because we’re about to venture into the world of DC and see if Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice is not that bad. Special guest: Lyle Robichaud.

  • There Can Only Be One – Bruce Springsteen

With a studio discography that spans 50 years, to say that there is a lot of material to cover in the grand catalog of Bruce Springsteen would be a minor understatement. Jesse Jackson from Set Lusting Bruce joins the show to bring his expertise to this deep dive as we go through 23 albums and pick only one song off each.

Below, you will find the playlists created by both Jesse and I. Be sure to have a listen and let us know in the comments below which songs would have made your Bruce Springsteen playlist.

  • Keep Watch Pass – Movie Musicals

There’s a song in our heart as we dance through Tinseltown and make our picks from the vast array of movie musicals. In this episode, we’ll pick three movies: one that hits all the right notes, one that at least keeps tempo and one that is out of tune with out tastes. Which movies made our lists? Let us conduct you through this episode.

  • Ep. 112 – Battle Beyond The Stars

It’s not easy to craft a new world with new characters and a story that’s original, captivating and guaranteed to thrill audiences everywhere. The next best thing is to borrow different parts of better movies, Franken-film them together and hope that the end result is different enough, palatable and guaranteed to thrill some audiences. This is why you pay your writers well. Despite all that, we’re here to try to prove to you that Battle Beyond The Stars is not that bad. Special guest: Sean Faust

  • Spin Shuffle Skip – Motor Sister – Ride

In the first edition of Spin Shuffle Skip, we take a look at the first album from supergroup Motor Sister, featuring members of Mother Superior, Anthrax, Armored Saint and The Cult. In this show, we pick three songs each: one that we would spin anytime, any day, one that we would be fine if it came on in shuffle play and one that we may skip if it came on.

Below, you will find the playlist of the whole album. Be sure to give it a spin and let us know in the comments below which songs you would have chosen.

  • Keep Watch Pass – Movies Coming In 2024

It’s our first speculative episode as we dive into which movies we’re looking forward to in 2024 and which one’s we’re looking to avoid. Happy New Year, everyone. 2024 has a lot to offer.

  • Grading On A Curve – Movies Of 2023

2023 has had its ups and downs. Writers and actors went on strike, superheroes crashed and burned and Barbie went full nuclear at the box office. On this show, though, we wrap up the year a little differently. We like to take a bunch of people, subject them to the worst the year had to offer and see if they survive. We’re a little sadistic, but don’t worry…we all lived to talk about it right here on the latest edition of Grading On A Curve. Guests on the panel this episode include Carson Elcome, Lyle Robichaud and Peter from the Movie Duel Podcast!

  • There Can Only Be One – One and Done Vol. 1

What better way to wrap up 2023 than to show some love to the artists out there with only one album? Brian Colburn from My Weekly Mixtape returns to run the One & Done gauntlet as we tackle 5 artists all with only one studio album each. Which artists? Which albums? You’ll have to tune in and find out.

Below, you will find the short lists made by our picks in this episode. Unfortunately, Samantha 7’s album is not available on Spotify, nor are the songs anywhere on YouTube. So for this, you’re just going to have to try to find the album to purchase. Also, be sure to let us know in the comments below which songs you would have picked from these 5 albums.

  • Keep Watch Pass – Movies Of 2023

There has been a lot happening in film this year, so what better way to wrap it up than to take a look at the films we saw this past year and to pick the three that meet our Keep, Watch and Pass criteria. Granted, we didn’t see everything…but that doesn’t mean we didn’t frequent the theatres. Tune in and find out if your faves made our lists.
