It’s the show that does its best to defend the unfairly maligned movies, to find the silver linings in the films deemed “less than great”. Every week, host Jason Whissell is joined by a guest to discuss a movie that has been poorly rated by the critics or by the fans. We do our very best to find good things to say about them, and to show those flicks in a light that you may have not noticed before. We are also always happy to hear what movies you think should be covered, as well as what you thought of the movies themselves. We’ll be posting blogs on here as well as keep you updated as to what to expect in the coming months.

Ep. 126 – Justice League
2017 was truly the age of heroes. Wonder Woman got her own film, Thor and Hulk got to bro-out, Spider-Man came home and Logan bid adieu to the cinematic mutant machine. One film looked to stand tall and team together the denizens of the DC Universe. What we got…well, that’s up for debate. But, in our opinion…Justice League is not that bad. There Can Only Be One – Queensryche
They are pioneers of progressive metal and currently celebrating the 40th anniversary of their first full length release. This week, we are looking at the 18 album run of Seattle’s metal masters, Queensryche. This will include all iterations of the band, so there’s something for everyone here. What songs made our list?
Below, you will find the playlists made by both Kerry and myself. It should be noted that, unfortunately, not every Queensryche album is available on Spotify (at least, not in Canada). Fortunately, where an album is not available, there was an alternative to use. So in some cases, you have either the track from a greatest hits compilation, a live version of the song, or in the case of The Killing Words, the MTV Unplugged version, which was mentioned in the show, so at least you get to hear it in all its acoustic glory. Be sure to let us know in the comments below what songs would have made your list. I’m happy to have happened upon this podcast while searching my absolute favorite band, Queensryche. I’ve been a fan since the Empire era (I was 11 when it was released), and instantly had to obtain and familiarize myself with all the music. Over the years, after Chris DeGarmo’s exit, they kind of fell off my radar, and I didn’t realize they had so many upfront and behind-the-scenes talent and production change-ups. This podcast episode opened my eyes and ears to that, and as a result I’ve vowed to explore in great detail, the releases following Hear in the Now Frontier and prior to the TLT era (which I absolutely LOVE!) music.
I’m ECSTATIC to be able to see them live in the present, and that feeling has now replaced the disappointment of not being old enough to see the band perform live all those years leading up to my first live QR experience, on the Q2K tour. I was 21 when I saw that show at the Riviera in Chicago. After that, the next time was in 2013 in McHenry County, IL (touring with Great White). That was my first experience seeing them live with Todd LaTorre, and I was BLOWN AWAY. I recently saw them in my hometown of Rockford, IL, on the EP/Warning tour, and it lived up to ALL my expectations. I was also truly blessed to meet them prior to the show, and what you’ve both said is so true… Michael Wilton is the nicest, most gracious human being (as are the rest of the guys in the band), and I have fulfilled a lifelong dream by meeting such amazing musicians. I was absolutely *starstruck*, as you were, Jay, and I’m still on that high almost three months later! I’m so happy my favorite band of all time is still creating and playing live music.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for doing this episode. I will absolutely be listening to more episodes! Side note: Dream Theater is also a favorite band of mine, however I’ve yet to have the opportunity to see them live. Oh, what I would’ve given to see DT and QR together, not only on the same tour, but ON STAGE.

They truly are amazing live, and even the most recent tour where they did the EP and The Warning in their entirety was amazing. They’re still firing on all cylinders. Always happy to talk Queensryche, and yes, we have done a Dream Theater episode as well. More prog will definitely be coming (recently, we covered King’s X, and I know Circus Maximus is on our white board. Thanks so much for listening. 🙂
