Welcome To The Home Of It’s Not That Bad
It’s the show that does its best to defend the unfairly maligned movies, to find the silver linings in the films deemed “less than great”. Every week, host Jason Whissell is joined by a guest to discuss a movie that has been poorly rated by the critics or by the fans. We do our very best to find good things to say about them, and to show those flicks in a light that you may have not noticed before. We are also always happy to hear what movies you think should be covered, as well as what you thought of the movies themselves. We’ll be posting blogs on here as well as keep you updated as to what to expect in the coming months.

Ep. 12 – A Night At The Roxbury

In this episode, we’re going to answer the questions that has puzzled humanity for as long as anyone can remember…what is love? Now, don’t hurt me on this one…it needs to be answered. Throw in some 80’s cameos, a lively Saturday night and the quest to get in to the only club that matters and you have yourselves a party. So bop your head to the right, everyone. Carla from the Bed, Wed Or Behead podcast joins the show to help prove that A Night At The Roxbury…is not that bad.

Ep. 11 – Judge Dredd

Take a movie based on a comic book, make a script with a dark tone…then through that all out, rewrite it with more jokes and have fans wondering if there’s a much better directors cut to the film. Believe it or not, we’re not even talking about Suicide Squad or Justice League. Seems to me like DC could have learned a lot if they had just taken a trip to Megacity One. Time to strap on a lawgiver because it’s time to prove that 1995’s Judge Dredd…is not that bad. Yeah…you knew I’d say that.

Ep. 10 – Caddyshack 2

What happens when you take a beloved movie, replace almost everyone in it, and try to make lightning strike twice? Well, if you’re on a golf course and there’s lightning, you run. If you’re trying to make Caddyshack 2…you also run. But all’s fair on the fairway as Brian and Gomez from Playlist Wars join the show to watch this dog’s leg of a film…and if we hurry, we can make it to Bunny Skylar’s in time for Brunch…all to prove to you that Caddyshack 2 is not that bad.

Ep. 9 – The Love Guru

Maple Leafs fans around the world have wanted their team to win the Stanley Cup for a long time…but not like this. No, not like this. Still, we’re going to ignore the teachings of Guru Pitka’s book “Does it Hurt When You Do that? Don’t Do That”, serve up some Quebec pizza, and watch some Elephant porn to prove to that The Love Guru…is not that bad.
-
Ep. 8 – Airheads

For your consideration…the 1994 movie Airheads is actually an educational film. It taught us that drummers can actually score with the ladies, hot sauce can be weaponized…and that all you need is a good song and a bad plan to make your dreams come true. You know, for an educational movie…Airheads is not that bad.

Ep. 7 – Gymkata

In 1985, one man would dare to mix gymnastics and karate. Today, we just call that mixed martial arts. Maybe Kurt Thomas couldn’t turn gymnastics gold to box office gold, but he does give us the opportunity to watch this cult classic and try to stick the landing as we prove to you that when it comes to Gymkata…it’s not that bad.
-
Ep. 6 – Fantastic Four (2015)

They say those who forget history are doomed to repeat it…and when it comes to Marvel’s first family, Fox forgot history. Throw in a massive dose of director drama and some rock hard nudity and you’ve got all the makings of an absolute disaster…or do you? You know what time it is? It’s time to clobber the public in remembering that 2015’s Fantastic Four is not that bad.

Ep. 5 – John Carter

When you help create some of the most endearing, iconic animated characters in modern movie history, you pretty much get to write your own ticket. But, what if that ticket costs over 250 million dollars to be able to bring to life a character written 100 years prior as your first live-action film director credit? Bold move…let’s see how that plays out. But don’t worry…when it comes to John Carter…it’s not that bad.

Ep. 4 – Masters Of The Universe

Normally, it’s the movies that spawn the toy line. So what happens when it’s the toy line that spawns the movie? Throw in the fact that the movie was also being made by the company that was able to do what Lex Luthor and General Zod couldn’t do…kill Superman? By the power of Greyskull, I have the power to talk about Masters Of The Universe and say guess what…it’s not that bad.

Ep. 3 – Destiny Turns On The Radio

Picture it…the year is 1995, you have a movie set in Vegas and you have one of the biggest writer/directors at that time involved with your movie as neither a writer or a director. That seems like a good idea, right? Well, we’re about to find out as we look at Destiny Turns On the Radio and prove to you that it’s not just a movie of infinite possibilities…it’s also not that bad.
