Welcome To The Home Of It’s Not That Bad
It’s the show that does its best to defend the unfairly maligned movies, to find the silver linings in the films deemed “less than great”. Every week, host Jason Whissell is joined by a guest to discuss a movie that has been poorly rated by the critics or by the fans. We do our very best to find good things to say about them, and to show those flicks in a light that you may have not noticed before. We are also always happy to hear what movies you think should be covered, as well as what you thought of the movies themselves. We’ll be posting blogs on here as well as keep you updated as to what to expect in the coming months.

Ep. 42 – Young Guns 2

Hey, remember when you could make a movie with a bunch of “of the moment” actors, have it critically panned, and still be able to make a sequel to it? Man, those were good times. Well saddle up, because we’re going back to the days of the brat pack, ready to go down in a blaze of glory as we try to prove to you that Young Guns 2 is not that bad.

Ep 41 – The Circle (2017)

You ever have that moment where you talk about something with someone in person, then all of a sudden, you start getting ads on various social media apps for that very thing? Creepy, right? Well, we’re about to take that to the extreme with a movie that will make you want to leave every social app you have, except MySpace. Tom is still waiting for you at MySpace. That’s because we’re here to prove to you that 2017’s The Circle is not that bad.

Ep. 40 – Jersey Girl

Over the years, Kevin Smith has entertained us with tales of his Jersey friends and enough fart jokes to fill you up right to the snoochie boochies. This time around, the king of Jersey cinema is gonna punch you right in the feels and you’re gonna like it. So sit back and relax, because it’s our intention to prove to you that Jersey Girl is not that bad.

What happens when the most inept and horned up police force find themselves in over their heads after a trip to the Blue Lagoon? Before you think Steve Guttenberg will show up and save the day…guess again, because we’re not that lucky. No, instead, we take on the monumental task of trying to prove to you that Samurai Cup is not that that bad.

Ep. 38 – Mobsters

When it comes to the mafia, if someone disrespects you…you take action. When it comes to mafia movies, if the critics disrespect it…we take action. When it comes to Mobsters, that disrespect ain’t personal, it’s business, and we’re about to give you a counter-review you can’t refuse because we’re here to prove to you that this 1991 mob boss movie…is not that bad.

Ep. 37 – America’s Sweethearts

Repeat after me…I’m grateful for the actors. I am grateful for the writing. I am grateful for the comedy. I am grateful for the script. I am not grateful for the critics who poo-poo’d on this movie. I am grateful for the chance to prove to you that America’s Sweethearts is not that bad.

Ep. 36 – Little Nicky

To say that Adam Sandler has made some hellishly bad films might be a grand understatement. But what happens when you drop in a heaven and hell storyline, some end of the 90’s CGI that looks like beginning of the 90’s CGI and a romantic plotline that can best be described as “there”, and you get a big challenge as we try to prove to you that Little Nicky is not that bad.

Ep. 35 – The Ridiculous 6

There are Adam Sandler movies. There are bad Adam Sandler movies. There is also this…the Ridiculous 6. Was Netflix ridiculous for throwing 60 million at this film? Maybe. Were we ridiculous enough to attempt to watch this to find good things to say? Definitely. However, we do like a challenge, and challenge accepted as we set out to prove to you that The Ridiculous 6 is not that bad.

Ep. 34 – Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008)

Remember when The Mandalorian came out and we all me Baby Yoda and said “Awwww”? Well, picture that but with a baby Hutt and the exact opposite reaction. The Force was definitely not strong with this one, but don’t worry my padawans. We’re here to prove to you that 2008’s Star Wars: The Clone Wars is not that bad.

Ep. 33 – Machete Kills

Imagine making a movie with a bunch of your friends which is a sequel to movie that you made with a bunch of your friends which is based on a fake trailer for a movie within a movie that you made with a bunch of your friends. Surprisingly, we’re not talking about a Kevin Smith project. Nope, we’re going to grind this episode right out of the house and prove to you that 2013’s Machete Kills is not that bad.
