  • Welcome To The Home Of It’s Not That Bad

It’s the show that does its best to defend the unfairly maligned movies, to find the silver linings in the films deemed “less than great”. Every week, host Jason Whissell is joined by a guest to discuss a movie that has been poorly rated by the critics or by the fans. We do our very best to find good things to say about them, and to show those flicks in a light that you may have not noticed before. We are also always happy to hear what movies you think should be covered, as well as what you thought of the movies themselves. We’ll be posting blogs on here as well as keep you updated as to what to expect in the coming months.

  • Ep. 75 – That’s My Boy

There are bad Adam Sandler movies…and there are wrong Adam Sandler movies. This one may be a bit of both. Regardless, we attempt to take a movie that actually made the Wikipedia list of the movies considered the worst and try to find good things to say. Is it that bad?

  • There Can Only Be One – P!nk

This week, we go through 10 albums in the studio discography of the one and only P!nk. From her debut album in 2000 to her most recent release, Trustfall, we go through each album and make a best-of playlist picking only one song off each album.

Below, you will find the playlists from both Kerry and I. Listen, enjoy, then let us know in the comments below which songs you would have picked. Which albums were easier to pick one song? Which ones were difficult? We want to hear from you.

  • Ep. 74 – Krull

In the 80’s there were a lot of sci-fi and fantasy movies soaring to the big screen. Worlds of wonder and fantastical things were aplenty at the theatre. But what would happen when one movie decided it wanted to be both a fantasy film and a sci-fi film? Throw in the coolest fidget spinner ever and you have a hit, right? Maybe not, but we’re here to prove to you that Krull is not that bad.

  • Ep. 73 – Tron Legacy

In 1982, the world was introduced to the Commodore 64. With a whopping 64 kilobytes of RAW, it was state of the art. We were also introduced to Tron, a world that took more than in 64kb to make. In 2010, we were introduced to the iPad with 256 megabytes of RAM. We also got Tron: Legacy. History shows us that with game changing technology comes great Tron movies…because Tron: Legacy is not that bad.

  • There Can Only Be One – Dream Theater

Musician Sean Faust joins the show to go through the studio discography of prog-metal legends Dream Theater. From When Dream And Day Unite to A View From The Top Of The World, the band has had an incredible impact on the prog genre. Be sure to let us know what your fav Dream Theater song is.

Below are the playlists of both Sean and I. It should be noted that Dream Theater’s first album, When Dream And Day Unite, is currently not on Spotify. Also, a note from Sean’s list: there are 3 songs listed from the Awake album. However, the three songs are considered parts of a suite, and therefore were allowed to be picked as one song.

  • Ep. 72 – Mortal Kombat (1995)

With movies like Sonic The Hedgehog and shows like The Last Of Us and Halo, it’s easy to forget that there once was a time when big screen video game adaptations weren’t worth waiting for. One 1995 film took the button mashing, techno-rocking, plotless attitude all the way to the bank, proving one thing…we clearly had much lower expectations in the 90’s. Will time look fondly upon this tournament of chumpions? Find out as we attempt to prove to you that Mortal Kombat is not that bad. Special guest: Ruben Chavez.

  • Ep. 71 – Midnight Madness

We’ve all taken part in scavenger hunts. They’re fun, you get your step count in and when we were young, it was the best way for our parents to get us out of the house so they could cry freedom and enjoy the silence caused by our absence. Now picture that in 1980 without a smartphone. Not so fun now, is it? You know what is fun? This movie. So sit back as we prove to you that Midnight Madness is not that bad. Special guest: Brian Colburn from My Weekly Mixtape and Playlist Wars.

  • There Can Only Be One – Tom Petty

Brian Colburn from My Weekly Mixtape and Playlist Wars joins the show to go through 18 albums of Tom Petty’s studio discography. What songs made our all-star best-of? Did we pick your favs? Find out in this week’s episode.

Below, we’ve added the playlists of both Jay and Brian. Have a listen, let us know which songs you agree with and what songs you would pick for your own list.

  • Ep. 70 – Stay Tuned

Back in the 90’s, once an actor made the jump from TV to movies, it wasn’t a good idea to go back to TV. But what if you had a couple of TV actors in a movie where there get sucked back into a TV and had to appear in a bunch of TV shows? You can’t change the channel on this one, so stay tuned as we attempt to prove to you that Stay Tuned is not that bad.

  • Ep. 69 – Anaconda

There are some cardinal rules in movies that characters should follow: Don’t go into the jungle at night alone, don’t pick up hitchhikers and if there’s a legend about a giant monster around, turn the other way and run. Luckily, no one in the movies ever listens to any of these rules. But fear not, because we’re going to prove to you that despite all this rule breaking, Anaconcda is not that bad.

Special Guest: Robert Lendrum from the Running Scared podcast.
