Welcome To The Home Of It’s Not That Bad
It’s the show that does its best to defend the unfairly maligned movies, to find the silver linings in the films deemed “less than great”. Every week, host Jason Whissell is joined by a guest to discuss a movie that has been poorly rated by the critics or by the fans. We do our very best to find good things to say about them, and to show those flicks in a light that you may have not noticed before. We are also always happy to hear what movies you think should be covered, as well as what you thought of the movies themselves. We’ll be posting blogs on here as well as keep you updated as to what to expect in the coming months.

Keep Watch Pass – Cinematic Debuts

One of the more fascinating things in doing this show is stumbling upon a film that marks the beginning of a filmography. Those first impressions are always fun to look back at, and do that we do. This week, we’re looking at movies that were the first of many for a number of actors. Which flicks made the list?

Ep. 163 – Alone In The Dark

The nice thing about adapting a video game to the big screen is that the story is already there, there’s a template for the characters and you have a ready-to-watch audience. So with all of that, how is it that some of these flicks make us want to rage quit? Strap in, grab a controller and pray for a “skip cutscene” button as we try to prove to you that Alone In The Dark is not that bad.

Spin Shuffle Skip – Songs From A Horror Movie Soundtrack

Delving into a themed episode with this one, we’re looking at songs that were featured from on a horror movie soundtrack. Okay, well one of us did. Which songs made our lists? Listen in and find out.
As mentioned during the show, here is the song from the end credits that was not on the soundtrack of Repo: The Genetic Opera. Also, we covered Repo on Episode 50 of It’s Not That Bad, so be sure to go back and check that episode out.

Ep. 162 – Southland Tales

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before…Black Adam, Daphne and Stifler walk into a dystopian nightmare version of LA while that guy from N’Sync is lip syncing a Killers song and no one knows exactly what the heck is going on. The punchline…is that we get to go through this film and find out if Southland Tales is not that bad. Special guest: Sean Faust.

There Can Only Be One – The Cure

From dark and moody, to whimsical to everything in between, The Cure can’t easily be described by one adjective. Now, to cover a band that has inspired many artists, David Rosen from the Piecing It Together podcast makes his There Can Only Be One debut to deep dive this 14 album discography.
Below, you’ll find the lists made by both David and myself. A quick note…Wild Mood Swings was the one album of the 14 not available on Spotify. However, since the song we both picked from that album was available as a live track from their Cureation-25: From There To Here/From Here To There album, it’s been added to the lists so you can still hear a version of the song we talked about.
