Ep. 131 – The Crow: City Of Angels

It’s not a far stretch to say that 1994’s The Crow is one of the best comic book movies of the 1990’s and perhaps one of the best non-DC or Marvel comic book films of all time. So of course Hollywood wouldn’t let this cinematic success go unpunished…and by that, we mean being dragged through the bad script swamp, weighed down and low budget and left to drown in studio notes. Still, we’re going to try and prove to you that The Crow: City Of Angels is not that bad.

  1. this is by far the best of the sequels but still not great. Iggy Pop I do remember liking in it though.

Much like you I was obsessed with the original movie. I bought action figures, posters (I have the Italian version of the movie poster), funko pops, statues, and the soundtrack and score on cd and vinyl. I even have a tattoo of it.

I am dreading this new movie. If they had just used a different character I’d probably be ok with it. Eric Draven should never be any other than Brandon Lee. It would be like remaking Casablanca with Tom Cruise (which was a rumor for a long time)

    1. Wait…Casablanca with Tom Cruise? No…no…no. Just…no. I liked the casting of Mia Kirshner a lot. There’s another movie of hers I hope to do for show…Mad City. Great film.

yeah years ago there was a rumor of a Casablanca remake with Tom Cruise. So glad it never happened
