Welcome To The Home Of It’s Not That Bad
It’s the show that does its best to defend the unfairly maligned movies, to find the silver linings in the films deemed “less than great”. Every week, host Jason Whissell is joined by a guest to discuss a movie that has been poorly rated by the critics or by the fans. We do our very best to find good things to say about them, and to show those flicks in a light that you may have not noticed before. We are also always happy to hear what movies you think should be covered, as well as what you thought of the movies themselves. We’ll be posting blogs on here as well as keep you updated as to what to expect in the coming months.

Ep. 27 – The Bubble

The last two years have given us a lot of words we probably never want to hear again for a long time. Words like pivot, cohort, moistly, lockdown and variant. However, we’ll try to go gentle and not burst your mood, as we’re going to be saying Bubble a lot…because we’re about to prove to you that the Netflix comedy the Bubble is not that bad.

Ep. 26 – Road House

If I learned anything from the movies in the 80’s, it’s that the most famous people in the world are bouncers…Jasper apparently only has one band, and that it’s okay to rip out someone’s throat with your bare hand. No one’s putting Swayze in a corner on this one. Gomez from Playlist Wars joins the show to help us prove to you that Road House…is not that bad.
-
Ep. 25 – Hudson Hawk

Normally, we don’t talk about Bruno…at least, that’s what Encanto tells us. Unfortunately, that’s not the case this time…because we’re going to have to talk about the Return Of Bruno. Sit back as we attempt to unlock the Da Vinci Codex as we prove to you that 1991’s Hudson Hawk is not that bad.

Ep. 24 – Formula 51 (The 51st State)

An assassin, a hooligan and a kilt-wearing chemist walk into Manchester to make a drug deal. Throw in a crime boss who talks about himself in the third person, more F-bombs than you can bleep out and you have a recipe for success. You can almost taste the rainbow already. Listen in as we prove that Formula 51 isn’t breaking bad at all. This Samuel L. Jackson cult classic…is not that bad.

Ep. 23 – Venom

Take two Oscar-nominated actors, a script where the main lead talks to himself for half the movie and a character with a not-so-great cinematic history and toss them all together into a film about hungry goo. Things are about to get sticky as we set out to prove to you that 2018’s Venom…is not that bad.
-
Ep. 22 – Rough Night

If we have learned anything from the movies, it’s that nothing bad ever happens if you decide to have a wild night before your wedding. Nothing bad at all…absolutely nothing can go wrong. Unless, of course, you let your horned-up best friend run the show. But even though very bad things happen, we’re here to show that 2017’s Rough Night is not that bad.
-
Ep. 21 – The Smurfs

We’re back and we’re talking about the big screen adaptation of the “three apples high” blue crew as they enter the real world of New York City. Good animation, a pitch-perfect villain…the critics definitely got it wrong on this one, and we’re here to tell you why.

Ep. 20 – Dream A Little Dream

No duo may have defined a decade in film quite like the Two Coreys…but what happens when the decade nears an end? Would their final film foray of the 80’s leave fans wanting for more…or would it make viewers wish they could wake up from a horrible dream? Erin Marlow from It’s A Fandom Thing joins the show as we set out to prove to you that 1989’s Dream A Little Dream…is not that bad.

Ep. 19 – Home Sweet Home Alone

Christmas is here, which can only mean one thing…movies that are supposed to make you feel festive but only make you want to hide from family gatherings, brutalize people dressed as Santa and plug your ears as you hear Carol Of the Bells for the 40th time today. But can one sequel save Christmas? Find out as we prove to you that Home Sweet Home Alone…is not that bad.

Ep. 18 – Rollerball (2002)

Take the sport of roller derby, drop it into underworld Russia and script it like it’s an episode of Monday Night Raw…all while everyone is dressed like they’re in a German new wave band and give the lead action role to someone who had never done an action movie before. That sounds like it should work…but did it? Find out as we take 2002’s Rollerball and probe to you…that it’s not that bad
