According to the movies, maritime law pretty much turns the open seas into the wild wild west, where anything goes, it’s everyone for themselves and claiming dibs seems to be a viable excuse for theft and plundering. Not sure how much that would hold up in court, but strap in as we put Ghost Ship on trial and see if the jury decides that this movie is not that bad.
